Peripheral Neuropathy and Reflexology

With 17000 sensory nerve endings on the palms of our hands and 7000 on the soles of our feet, hand and foot reflexology has been found to be helpful in relieving the symptoms of those experiencing peripheral neuropathy.

Traditional Chinese medicine teaches that peripheral neuropathy is due to the lack of flow of chi (energy) and blood to the area. The systematic pressure point massage that reflexology offers stimulates the nerve endings or 'touch receptors' and aids circulation and the peripheral system into better function. This relieves the numbness, burning, tingling or pain experienced by many.

Reflexology is a 'holistic' therapy. Incidentally the word holistic is Greek and means 'whole'. A holistic treatment is not just targeting the symptoms, but targets the body as a complete unit and works the area related to the origin of the issue. This then promotes a state of 'homeostasis' or equilibrium within the body as a whole.

I am a reflexologist with personal experience of treating peripheral neuropathy with good results, bringing an alleviation in symptoms. If you or anyone you know is experiencing peripheral neuropathy then I would recommend a course of six reflexology sessions for best results however improvement can be felt after the first treatment. I would be more that happy to arrange a chat and discuss your needs.

My private and tranquil reflexology practice is in Crawley Down which is located between Crawley and East Grinstead. Please head to my contact page to request a call back or send an enquiry.
